I collect a lot of random shyt. Sneakers being one of them, before that comic books and skate decks. I was hooked. True story: 2004 — my first day at Nike, I wore Vans to work… it was the only pair of shoes I had. My art director (Michael Leon) shook his head and said, “Yo, what's up with your feet?” I told him it was the only pair of shoes I had. He made me walk to the other side of Nike’s campus to meet some friends — Kevin Imamura and James Arizumi at Nike SB. Changed my life. Loved sneakers after that, but more important were the friendships I’d later make in the field, and a lifelong career in the footwear industry that I’m grateful for.
